Recognized as one of the most comprehensive heritage restoration and renovation projects in North America, the project consisted of complete renovation of 500 guest rooms, restoration of public spaces, complete reconfiguration and upgrading of all service functions and construction of new guest reception / administration facilities and recreation centre. More than 50% of the construction program, including the complete reconstruction of all back-of-house facilities, was accomplished while the hotel was occupied, without disrupting the guest experience. Partner, Greg Dowling was the project leader for this project while with a previous practice. Following the completion of the major redevelopment of the hotel, DGBK has continued to provide services to Fairmont Hotels & Resorts in several discrete renovation projects.
Willow Springs Spa
Further to DGBK’s on-going work at Victoria’s Empress Hotel, the new custom health spa appeals to the international traveler and will offer comparable facilities to luxury European spa standards. The spa includes 12 treatment rooms, 3 temperate spa pools, and lounge facilities.
