The addition of a new building and renovation to the PGRH main complex was designed as a replacement of the outmoded existing inpatient facility, while expanding areas for existing services and adding new and needed services to the community's central hospital. The primary PGRH building was an aging facility and lacking adequate room to address demand on existing services as well as new demands such as a Geriatric Assessment Unit and a Renal Unit.
